Anziano Consultants is looking for a proactive Bookkeeping and Accounting Manager to oversee our bookkeeping function and drive business development. This role involves managing financial records, ensuring tax compliance, preparing reports, and marketing our services to attract new clients
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Financial Record Management
- Oversee daily bookkeeping activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Maintain general ledger accounts, including reconciliations and adjustments.
- Ensure proper classification and recording of financial transactions.
2. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
- Generate reports for management decision-making and regulatory compliance.
3. Tax Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns (VAT, corporate tax, payroll taxes, etc.).
- Stay updated with tax laws and accounting standards to ensure compliance.
- Liaise with tax authorities and auditors as required.
4. Payroll & Expense Management
- Oversee payroll processing, including salary calculations, statutory deductions, and remittances.
- Monitor and manage company expenses, ensuring adherence to budgets.
- Implement cost-control measures to improve financial efficiency.
5. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage supplier and customer accounts, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Oversee invoicing, billing, and credit control processes.
- Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
6. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide recommendations.
- Work with management to develop strategies for financial growth.
7. Internal Controls & Audit Preparation
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls to prevent fraud and errors.
- Prepare for internal and external audits by ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective measures.
8. Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise and mentor accounting and bookkeeping staff.
- Ensure staff are trained on financial policies, procedures, and software.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide guidance for improvement.
9. Technology & Process Improvement
- Implement and optimize accounting software and digital tools for efficiency.
- Identify areas for automation and process streamlining.
- Ensure secure handling of financial data and adherence to data protection policies.
10. Liaison & Communication
- Coordinate with banks, auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Communicate financial insights and recommendations to management.
- Support other departments with financial information and guidance.
Required Skills
1. Technical Accounting & Bookkeeping Skills
- Proficiency in bookkeeping principles and double-entry accounting.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
- Experience in tax compliance, payroll processing, and statutory deductions.
- Ability to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
2. Financial Analysis & Budgeting
- Ability to analyze financial statements and identify trends.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Strong understanding of cash flow management.
3. Software & Technology Proficiency
- Expertise in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, SAP).

- Understanding of tax laws, VAT, and corporate tax requirements.
